Search - help
The "Who is who in Czech Slavonic Studies" database can be searched by the four following methods:
Fulltext search
In the search bar for fast search on the initial menu bar or in the fulltext search bar under the "Search for persons" option enter any part of a word from the desired phrase.
Using the Search for persons option allows you to combine it with search by name and with advanced search. Do not use diacritical marks and transliteration - enter Čapek as Capek (not Chapek).
Search by surname or first name
In the search bar Search for persons enter the surname or first name of the person you are looking for. This search can be combined with full text search or advanced search. Do not use diacritical marks and transliteration - enter Čapek as Capek (not Chapek).
Advanced search
This method offers two options (they are activated by clicking on the correspondent button at the menu):

general field of study search - this option contains the general scientific fields of study. Wide fields of study that have the biggest number of specialists working on are divided into subcategories. While searching, mark the boxes of chosen categories. You can mark as many categories as you want. You can combine this method with fulltext search and search by name.

geographical field of study search - this option contains the Slavonic fields of study arranged by the geographical area. The authors of the database were trying to list all specialists dealing with particular geographical regions without the link to general scientific level. While searching mark the boxes of desired categories. You can mark as many boxes as you want. You can combine this method with fulltext search and search by name.
Search by workplace
You can display the detailed information by clicking on the name of a chosen workplace. The list of specialists working there will also appear. By clicking on someone's name you can reach his personal data. You can also use fulltext search within the list of workplaces, it will search in names of the workplaces and their addresses. Do not use diacritical marks and transliteration - enter Čapek as Capek (not Chapek).
